Fresco International Workshop 2026: in Florence a focus on synaptic plasticity and Parkinson’s disease

Registrations are now open for the “2026 Fresco International Workshop on Synaptic Plasticity and Advances in Parkinson’s Disease”, which will take place in Florence from November 4 to 6, 2026, at the Istituto degli Innocenti.

Now in its eighth edition, the workshop will bring together internationally renowned researchers and clinicians to explore the latest developments in synaptic plasticity research and its implications for Parkinson’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders.

The program includes five scientific sessions dedicated to the main advances in brain plasticity, spanning from laboratory research to clinical practice, in both physiological conditions and neurodegenerative disorders. In a context marked by increasing life expectancy and the rising incidence of neurodegenerative diseases, the workshop will offer an opportunity for discussion on pathogenetic mechanisms, therapeutic strategies, and perspectives in translational research.

The event is directed by Angelo Quartarone, M. Felice Ghilardi, and Monica Norcini, and will be held at the Istituto degli Innocenti, located at Piazza della Santissima Annunziata 12, Florence.

Early registration is open until July 31, 2026.

The call for abstracts for posters and oral presentations is also open: submissions, with a maximum of 250 words (excluding title and authors), must be sent by August 31, 2026, to info@frescoparkinsoninstitute.it.

Posters must measure 60 × 90 cm.

The event is accredited for CME (code 6633-478456) with 16 credits for physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and psychologists.
